
Basically if you are drinking alcohol daily, eating bar food to satisfy your raging appetite and spending the rest of your day sleeping off your hang over then yes I would say that alcohol is a main player in you weight problem. But if you intake alcohol in moderation and make sure it fits into your calorie budget then you should have no problem.
Now is it good for you and should it be part of your diet is a whole other story, but I will save that for another post.
