Bogota, Colombia

I am back from my first international excursion into the wild. It was a great trip! We played some ball with the locals, climbed a mountain, ate some Colombian food and just tried to take it all in.

I was very surprised at the amount of people who did not speak English...not even a little. I would have been lost without my buddy who is from Colombia and kept up the communication for me.

One really nice thing about Bogota was the temp, it was always in the mid to high 60s and low 70s. PERFECT. You can imagine the rude awakening when we stepped into the muggy heat-wave of the mid-south again...ahh home.

I have included a picture of our 9 on 9 basketball crew, my Colombian translator Jonny Pineda and a photo from the top of Monserrate, the mountain I climbed that was more than 10,300 feet tall! Add that to the base altitude of Bogota which is 8,200 feet above sea level and we're talking serious nose-bleed potential.

The trip was a whole lotta fun, but I am back now, pounds lighter from my high altitude vacation, so be ready to get back on track with my weekly blogs!
