Motivation 101

As a personal trainer motivation is something I do every day, but its also something you should be doing for yourself in everyday life. Here are a couple of tips to help you motivate yourself to stay on track:

1. Make a final goal but also make short term goals for along the way.
  • Reaching smaller goals keeps you motivated and will make the long term one not seem so far away.
2. Change up your workout.
  • Doing the same thing over and over will get boring, change it up to give your workout life.
3. Hiring a Personal Trainer to get better results faster.
  • It is our life's work! We can keep things fresh and give you the encouragement you need.
4. Get a workout partner
  • Knowing that you have someone who is going to be waiting on you is great motivation not to skip.
5. Take a before and after picture
  • Seeing where you were can always help you stay motivated to get to where you want to be.
6. Sign up for a 5k, triathlon, adventure race!
  • This will give you something solid with a deadline to work toward that you know you are going to have to do.
7. Reward yourself.
  • Positive reinforcement is always a good way to stay motivated.
