Breakfast

Mom always said it's the first and most important meal of the day but did you ever stop and think why? Well let me shed some light on that profound question.

The first reason breakfast is the most important meal of the day is that fact that your body has had nothing since your last meal which in most cases was 8 hours earlier. That is a long time for your body to go without nourishment and therefor it is in need of energy. Eating breakfast will help you be more productive, boost your metabolism and help you eat better throughout the day.

The second reason is that eating breakfast has been linked to being more active during your day. If you get that energy first thing your body is ready to take on the rest of the day and will have what it takes to workout harder and play longer.

The third reason dives a little deeper into the mystery of your metabolism. Skipping breakfast causes you to binge eat later in the day. It has also been linked to increased insulin which increases fat storage. Studies show that you also tend to choose unhealthy foods when skipping breakfast which leads to weight gain. See what eating a healthy breakfast can help you avoid?

To conclude, your mom was right, breakfast is a very important meal and should not be skipped. If you are looking to lose weight or get back on track with your diet maybe you should take a look at what you eat for breakfast...it may be the key to your success.

I am including a link to Men's Health with has a great tool for choosing the right breakfast for you. Give it a shot and start your day off right.
